This is a Problem

Some of you may remember a while ago when Heidi had blogged about how google analytics had reported that she had zero views for weeks... Well, it strikes again. This just shows what happens when all my viewers are RSS'ers...

That doesn't jive my friend. I commented on your site on Monday, July 21st in regards to the "Just the Box" post. That meant that I had to go to your site. I think that your analytics code might be dorked. Check it on your site... it might have disappeared with a change to your layout or something.... and I just visited your site to verify this, so tomorrow, if you don't have any visitors in Google Analytics, you know that it's not your visitors.

the rss excuse is weak. You don't even know how it works. I could be wrong but it looks like when any views your blog content even over rss analytics will record that since you are still getting the content off the server. I think it's just a problem with analytics. Ask heidi but either you will have to wait until it fixes itself or fix the code on your blog.

Also, most rss readers embed video now so you don't have to tell people there is a video. On iphone google reader tells you when there is a YouTube video and provides a link. So don't go to the trouble.

Also, my analytics shows consistent growth over the last year. If anything the rss readers have helped to grow my blog audience.
